Often hospice clinical staff find that their patients need additional therapy aside from that which they can provide. We often call on other professionals who volunteer their services to help out with the special needs of our patients to make them more comfortable. The services these professional volunteers provide may include massage therapy, physcial therapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, and complimentary therapies such as Reiki, Healing Touch, and Qi Gong.
Professional Volunteers complete the full training and reports to the Hospice Care Coordinator. They must be licensed and/or certified in their discipline in order to provide assistance to patients and caregivers.
